Well after weeks / months of planning, even more talking, and so many options given to the approval committee they wanted to "cut their throats", we have finally made it to departure day.

Kate arrived at 5pm wanting to be fed before becoming our wonderful taxi driver to get us to the airport. the trip was so good Jane even managed the trip without trying to brake or comment during the journey.

Check in was smooth, and even security and immigration were quick, allowing us time in the Qantas lounge for a calming glass or 2 before boarding.

We are flying Qatar from Melbourne to London via Doha, this is the first time Jane has flown with them and my 2nd time. Qatar bill themselves as the 5 star airline, and judging by the first leg of this flight they can certainly keep claiming this title.

We arrived at our seats on the plane to find we had company for the trip. We will see what happens with these for the rest of the journey.
