Graeme round the world
Day 51 Sunday 14th May [Mother's Day here is Oz] Up at 7am for walk by the harbour and alfresco breakfast overlooking the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, it was grey cloudy and I hate to say it cold!!!!!, so thought it would be good to jump on the tourist bus and do a complete tour of the city. Next on the agenda - a bit of action, so signed up for the Harbour Bridge Walk. They give you a bit of training, a very attractive boiler suit to wear and a headset, so the guide can point out interesting things ............like where the last person fell off. The first part is along a narrow walkway which you can see through, so wasn't sure how much 'fun' this was going to be, but the guide was very reassuring, the next bit was almost vertical stairs up onto the main bridge, again you can see through the stairs so not a good idea to look down. The good news is the sun had come out and it was a spectacular view, which certainly helped to calm everyone's nerves and by the time we reached the summit I was really enjoying myself and we got some great photos at the top and with the Opera house in the background. Finally found a decent internet café so sorry no updates for the last 3 days, but all the others couldn't upload photos, but hope today's one on top of the bridge make up for it :o) I'm off to a revolving restaurant for dinner shortly, so will catch up with you tomorrow :o)
