A very brief stop in Dubai airport, just enough time to grab a smoothie. I had strawberry and pomegranate, Matt had strawberry and banana. Was not a fan of security and the "pat down" I was given, but hey, it's a risk you take when you fly.

We're back! We had an amazing time in SA, but it's good to be home, just in time for the boys to return too.

For our final day in South Africa, we went to Rosebank to see the 'The art of the brick' Lego exhibition. It was great and the kids loved it.

We spent the weekend in Haartbeespoort at the dam. It was absolutely beautiful with buck, monkeys and bush babies all just free ranging all over the place. There were supposed to be some tortoises too, but we only saw one whilst we were there. The kids found several parks to play in and there was a heated outdoor pool which they enjoyed too. On Saturday we went to chameleon village, which is a big market hall. Granny was generous enough to give the children R10...

We got up super early and drove out from the dam to spend the day in pilanesberg. It was a really fun day out with granny. It's kind of disconcerting to be eating breakfast at a picnic bench in the middle of a game park where you know there are lions and rhinos, but the benches are all fenced in and the views are amazing. We got great views of: Dung beetles, Lions, Rhinos, Hippos, Wildebeest, Crocodiles, Wart hogs, Elephants, Giraffes, Kudu, Springbo...
