KOH TAO
Next morning we caught a modern catamaran full of Western tourists which stopped off en route at the Full Moon Party island of Koh Pha Ngan. We stayed on until Koh Tao, keen to do some more diving. En route, Duncan did some great negotiating with a bungalow resort rep, who arranged for our direct transfer by bumpy pick-up truck from the port to the Grand Coral Resort, which had a diving centre on site. We booked ourselves onto two dives the following day, at Mango Bay and The Twins. Our instructor, who we were fortunate enough to have all ourselves, told us a handy aide memoir for our pre-dive buddy checks. The usual routine of BCD, Weights, Releases, Air, Final Check is much easier to recall with the phrase Bangkok Women Really Are Fellas. The conditions were perfect with excellent visibility, beautiful coral, 29° C water and colourful fish everywhere. We saw Angel Fish, Puffer Fish, Anemone Fish and a Moray Eel amongst many others. We've now done ten dives and are keen to do more in Cambodia and Vietnam.
