Dragged Bryan kicking and screaming (actually silent and moody) to the Vactician museum today, after St Peters and Notre Dame the Sistine Chapel was small and underwhelming though there was not a single blank square centimeter, it was totally mural painted. The room with old pope mobiles (cartridges and limos) was pretty cool possibly the least publicized room of the entire museum but hey we're not really museum people! I do need to report my gelato tasting is p...

Revisited the Colosseum today, so we could do an extra tour up to the third level (as high as you can go, higher than general admin, unfortunately the underground level is closed currently due to storm damage). We walked up a big hill to see some ancient Roman baths which were rather disappointing. Went up on top of City Hall 'Rome in the sky' for a really cool view. Tonight doing a city night lights tour :)

Today focused on the ancient parts of Rome, colosseum (pretty cool), forum (not much left of it), circus Maximus (nothing left really just looks like a big oval), Capitol hill (design by Michelangelo) and the chains that bound St Peter (a special church was built specifically to house them with a statue of Moses).

Hung out with my mate Pope Benedict (top window second from right) today. If you bring a big flag/sign he does special 'shout outs' I detected at least four languages and I probably missed a couple. St Peters Basilica was pretty amazing, huge! We also saw the Trevi fountain, the Pantheon and 'some broken stuff' (Bryan's words) the Imperial Forum museum was in the actual ruins.

Back on the train again (good thing they are quite nice), destination Rome. Our hotel is thankfully nicer though maybe not in the best area. We went for a wander and found St Margarethe church then a lovely dinner, Bryan had a pesto pene I had crab tortellini - think we'll go back to that restaurant!!
