Slept in this morning with poor Raym feeling worse so after buffet breakfast it was time to get directions to a medical centre. Was about half hour away heading towards Buffalo - the whole long drawn out episode took almost three hours! Wasn't helped by major roadwork and me having difficulty getting the GPS to provide Canadian directions. Was never so glad to hear that annoying woman's voice! Always knew medical expenses were high in the US - $240 to see a doctor! At least once we found a pharmacy, within a supermarket , the drugs were heaps cheaper than home. So was well and truly afternoon by the time we were on the road after rolls and ham and cheese for lunch and a dose of antibiotics for Raym. Shame it took us a while to out-smart our GPS friend .... the shortest distance isn't always the route you want to take!! Slight detour once realized but once back on track, scooted back around Niagara and back over the Canadian border (again!). Unfortunately we were hitting Toronto vicinity approaching peak hour which slowed things down. We had no idea how sprawling and heavily populated it is - so much high rise residential living a long distance from the city! Turned off the freeway for a short break and to phone Rohan. So good to speak to him and make sure their departure arrangements for Saturday are sorted. Only drove a short distance and turned off freeway at Port Hope, right on lake and continued short way along lake road to next town, Cobourg. Looks quaint with gorgeous architecture. Found this great pub, the King George Inn which adjoins an old historic jail which houses the accommodation. Wonderful atmosphere! Our room has been made to resemble a cell. Certainly something different and memorable!
