Day 7 - Boulia to Mt Isa Not much to report today. Up at 8:30 and on the road at 10:00. 300km today. The road was sealed all the way but very narrow. When a car came the other way both had to have one wheel off the road. The first 3 cars didn't slow down so after that we got right off the road so they didn't. We got a chip in the windscreen. These cars were young guys, probably in a hurry to get to Bedourie to start drinking before the weekend's races. There...

Day 6 - Birdsville to Boulia Today we drove about 180 km on dirt and sealed roads. We were in the Simpson Dessert for the first 190km so the countryside was flat between the sand dunes. There was a lot of gibber stone and sand. After Bedourie it was flat with a hill every so often and not much growing taller than a foot. We stopped and had a lok at the waddi trees. Day 5 - Birdsville Today was a rest day. We slept in and then had a leisurely breakfast. The nights are getting warmer - I only need my winter pj's (not the layers underneath). Day 4 - Mungerannie Hotel to Birdsville We left Mungerannie at 7:50 because the Winnebago tour was going to be leaving today, heading north, and they are traveling VERY slowly.
