We arrived in Hong Kong 2 nights ago. Hong Kong is a fabulous city. It's a mix between a modern western city like New York with tall buildings and neon lights versus your typical Asian city like Bangkok with cheap food stalls lining the streets and fake rolex watches on every corner. The shopping here is great. Fake everything at prices better than in Thailand. The food is full of flavour and costs next to nothing. The one thing that is expensive though is the accomodation. As there is not much land in Hong Kong to accomodate all it's people everyone lives in appartments that sprawl from the city through to the suburbs. The hostel room we are staying in has 2 single beds and toilet/shower in one and is about 2m * 3m including the bathroom. There is air-con and hot water and it is very quite and the pillows are soft so it is actually quite nice. Unfortunately the weather is a bit miserable. Light showers and very cloudy but not too cold.
