Here's blog from Romania, the most unexpected place meaning it was not what we expected.
The little settlement that we stayed called Brasov in the centre of Transylvania, the history of Dracula was suppose to orginated from here.
After checking in exhausted, listening to owner, recommending all the sightseeings in Brasov (all we were thinking, we just want to go to bed and catch up with our sleep. We were given complimentary shot from the bar which was plum flavoured and it tasted revolting but for Erika who is acustomed to all shot types, she managed down the whole shot and without a grimace her face!
the next day 29th july, we visited Rasnov-Citadel, little settlement on the hill, was built in 1350, with amazing view at the peak, could see for miles and miles. Afterwards we visit Bran Castle where it was told to be the Dracula's castle. To our disappointment, it wasn't what we all imagined. Dark gloomy, scaring castle actually turned out to be clean, bright pleasant atmosphere. we then realise Bran Castle was not actually the original as the original one was a ruin so now we can cherish our typical image of the castle based on the original ruins.
At one part of the day, we planned to do some sightseeing and we decided to get a drink in cafe (was at 2pm) next thing we realised it was 6pm in the evening!!!!!!!!! Time sped past for fast when we were talking. we didnt even stop whilst we had dinner and til 3am back in the hostel's common room!! so thats a record for us non-stop talking for more than 12 hours!!
the next day, we got the cable car lift to the top of the hill where there was white sign 'BRASOV' (somebody here is copying the hollywood) peeked over the edge of the platform, admiring the amazing view down below, all but one-Camilla who has major phobia of height, but she did manage to shuffle few steps but far away from the railings of the platform, just enough to get a glimpse of the view below. Congrats!!
the walk down- urh! what can i say about it..... 1 hour down hill walk, along the zig zag paths, lucky it didnt make us dizzy. our feet were absolutely filthy at the bottom, and it didnt help that we were wearing flip flops!!!!
I know that this is short one but Romania is un-describle in words, the beauty surround Brasov and Romania, definately one of the surprise country.
