From driving a car in America, to taking the metro system in Europe and riding buses in Asia, one thing is for sure...no matter what the means of transporation are, you'll get where you need to go.
We should look at life as this kind of journey. Different transportations representing different seasons in our life. Sometimes we'll be alone, sometimes we'll be crammed in with people, and sometimes it'll be uncomfortable, tiring and testing our patience (that icky thing we call traffic-whatever your "traffic" may be), BUT the destination is being fulfilled either way. We'll get there...eventually.
Now, I am crammed into a hot, sweaty and smelly bus (well maybe that's describing me too right now) and just enjoying the ride. Although it may be different means of transporation I am content with where I am. That's what I am learning from my travels...to be content with where I am, what I have, and the culture I'm in.
I find it quite selfish to be in one place while desiring to be elsewhere...I'm guilty of it. By doing so it makes us miss the sweetness of the moment. Yes, my list of countries not yet visited is a mile long, but why dream of moments elsewhere when I can make the best of where I am?
So, whether you're on your comfortable car ride, crammed metro ride, or in an uncomfortable bus, let's hold our heads high and know we'll get to our next destination. The grace of God is sufficient to get us through any season or "transportation".
