2011. Phuket. Beach party. Thousands of lanterns filling the sky. Fireworks shooting in the air for 5 hours nonstop. Music filled streets. Ringing in the New Year, the new decade with the best New Years Eve I have ever had in my life!!!

My friend came over to visit me in Asia for Christmas and New Years. We spent time exploring Bali, Kuala Lumpur and Phuket. By far Thailand was the most beautiful place I have seen in Asia. The water is crystal clear, there are people from all over the world, and the Thai know how to ring in the new year in style.

Words cannot describe the atmosphere on NYE. I began the night lighting a lantern and making a wish for this next year and it was followed by thousands of lanterns sailing into the sky until the wee hours of the morning. Fireworks went off all through the night, but at midnight they filled the entire sky. I did a 360 turn and could see them exploding everywhere. It as the most magical moment of my life. Phuket is great for families, friends, single travelers, elder couples...there is something for everyone. If you ever have a chance to travel to southern Thailand in your lifetime, NYE is the time to go to Phuket at Patong Beach.

I have so much hope for this year. It is a transition point in my life and it's the beginning of a new decade. Just like i lit my lantern into the sky and it wisked away up to the stars I know it is like my prayers being lifted to Heaven. To my Creator my prayers fill the night sky and are putting all their hope and future in what is to come.
