We finally had to drag ourselves away from paradise... and the place that we ended up in, Nusa Lembongan, was still pretty heavenly (and the romance level was still high!) The Viceroy had booked us into the Bali Hai Tide Huts - more aimed at your honeymoon/package tourist than us, but we made the most of it! The huts had the use of a banana boat, snorkling gear and a pool so we spent the first day mucking about in the water with the day trippers. Once they had all gone, it got really quiet and you could appreciate the beauty of the bay. We made friends with some of the staff and Wayan taught us some Balianese dancing (which might have slightly ruined some of the romanic candelight dinners on the beach...)
The following day we did a couple of dives off Nusa Penida - although we didn't see the promised Sun Fish we did see loads of beautiful fish and coral despite fighting ridiculous currents!!! Really great diving and I got to drive the dve boat back.
From Nusa it was off to Gili T - at the boat pick on Nusa up place the evidence of the real money earning on the island was evident... seaweed harvesting. Apparently 85% of the population of the island are employed in the seaweed business which is used in things like ice cream!
