Last night we had a water taxi boat ride down the Grand Canal which was spectacular and then all went to St. marks square for a drink and to listen to the two five piece orchestras who were top notch. It was magical and definitely a tour highlight! Rod even had the orchestra play Happy Birthday for me! A little later as I was gazing at the other people around I spotted our family GP and his wife three tables over!!! We went to chat with them and they were surprised to see us too!
Both of our children called to say happy birthday as well.

Today we walked around Venice and went into the Doges Palace and over the bridge of sighs into the prison cells (horrible). After that we wandered a lot and got lost in Venice as one is supposed to do when here. There are many people here. Soon we are having a gondola ride and a wrap up celebration dinner then it's up very early to catch our water taxi back to the mainland and then to the airport.
