Our Tuscan dinner last night lacked atmosphere but we were fed until we couldn't eat or drink another mouthful! We went to a winery before the dinner and tasted three very nice reds and bought two bottles for less than one of that quality would cost at home. Today we drove to stunningly beautiful area of Cinque Terra and walked around the third of the five villages where we saw some grape harvesting on the steep terraced cliffs and then took a train to the furthest village where we boarded a boat for a rather bumpy cruise over some good sized swells past all the villages all the way up to the town of Portovenere where we had a gelato and wandered around the shops until our bus met us and drove us to our Hotel for one night at Santa Marguerita Liguire - a hosh posh resort town. Some massive yachts around this area and high end shops and hotels. Ours is nothing special but we are only here briefly. Gill had to buy a sundress today to cool down and managed to find an inexpensive one that fits in an open market and even had some favourable remarks on it from our fellow tour mates!
Tomorrow off to Portofino & the Italian Lakes. Weather has been great!

Jane Well, Gilly the Fashion Plate!!! So glad that you are continuing to have a good time. Enjoy all that delicious wine and food and soak up all that atmosphere so that you can remember it all for when you show us your photos. Don't bother looking for George, he's in Vancouver right now!! Hmmm, just a short ferry ride away.
Kari Wow! sounds like you are having a wonderful time over there. I got back from Edmonton Tuesday night. No wine tours, but did see Jurrassic Park, Fort Edmonton, Elk Island park, the zoo and best of all the Eskimos won their game! Took some home made smoked salmon and I think that did the trick! Short & T-shirt weather the whole time, temperatures in the high 20's but Sheri said they dropped to 8 degrees on Wednesday. Enjoying the Blog, take care and see y'all soon. XXOO
