Saturday morning and we are off to Shakespeare's birthplace - Stratford upon avon, then on to visit villages in the Cotswolds. Stratford was very busy but we made our way to Shakespeare's home again the age of these buildings still amaze us. Picked up some nic nacs at the souvenir shop including some Shakespeare quotes / insults like " I wish we were better strangers " and " thou art a boil" which Gillian used to describe me later in the day when I was being a pain.
We wandered around the city with our faithful guides Martin and son Justin. What a beautiful town this is with the canal / narrow boats / swans etc. We were lucky enough to witness a boat going through a lock which was very interesting. Then off to the Cotswolds where we visited the Moreton -in -Marsh, Stow-on-the-Water and Bourton-on-the-Water. Very quaint villages with all the buildings constructed of Cotswold stone.
Visited a vehicle museum which brought back memories of by gone eras. Our trip today was highlighted by the beautiful English country, quaint villages and good company.
We finished the day with an enjoyable meal with our guides and of course a few more pints.
