We had to be up very eraly on the morning of the 30th as our bus to Nha Trang left at 7.30am. The bus was awesome - nothing like in the UK - it was a double decker bus that had bunk beds in it - u were provided with a blanket and pillow and were in a reclining seat...all of a sudden the 12 hour bus journey didnt look so bad! Journey was asexpected, beautiful scenery, you felt you were seeing the real Vietnam.
On arrival in Nha Trang we dumped our bags in the 14 bed dorm roomwe had booked in hope of meeting friends to find that we were the only people in it! So we wen tout to dinner by ourselves and then had a few drinks in a bar called 'WhyNot'! - what are the chances of travelling accross the world to find a why not, anyway we had to have ad rink and photo there with the bonus of it being really cheap - 20,000VD for a double vodka and 15,000 for a beer!
1st October, we had a little lie in then got up and drew back the curtains to be greeted by bright blue sunshine - we were sooo excited we quickly had breakfast, a quick look around the topwn then hit the beautiful beach. We cant describe how excited we were to be going to the beach or how amazing it was - the sand was white, the sea and sky were blue and we were officially in heaven lying on our sun loungers under little cute wooden hut/umbrella typpe things! It was such a relaxing day - we just read our books in between dips and swin\ms in the sea.
One of the most exciting things was the thought of getting rid of our extremely white skin, we knew it was hot so applied lots of sun creamm however we both got burnt - gill even more so. We did come to the conclusion it was a good base layer for our tan. On getting back to hostel and showering, Gill realised the full extent of her sun burn - thewhole front of her body was bright red and painful and it lasted for days! We had avery uncomfortable night sleep that night!
That evening we hit the hostels bar where we met two lovely Americans, Jamie and Ilana, who were both teachers at an international school in Singapore, we took the girls to Why Not cos was their first night in nha trang. Just as the grils were getting ready to leave, 3 Iris lads came and joined us and Gill and I stayed out with them, hit the sailing club and danced and drank till 3am - they even played teh Proclaimers!
Next morning (2nd) we were feeling a little worse for wear -got up at 11am and again headed to beach, although still hot weather was a little cloudy today so we just lay on beach to relax - we got a night bus to Hoi An that night that left at 6.30 pm
This blog does not do our trip justice - its so hard to describe what an amazing time we are having
lots of love
