24th feb - arrived 9.30pm so just hung out in room chatting to Indie, she had just done the kiwi experience (the bus trip iv booked in NZ) so she was showing me pics and giving me some tips!

25th feb - Headed over to Dave's hostel (Scottish guy we met in Sydney) as we were going to grab a drink at his hostel cafe but it was closed - there was a 1.5metre brown snake crawling around - i pretty much freaked out and Dave went closer for a sneaky peak - i actually caught a glimpse of it which was scary enough for me! Brown snakes are venimous and can launch themselves upto 2metres! so instead we headed down to the beach and had a drink at a bar there. Went to some travel agents in the afternoon to book my fraser island trip. No-one in my room was going out tonight so i went over to Daves hostel and drank with his friends. We went to the Great Northern Hotel for some drinks, where i ran into the 3 irish boys from Coffs Harbour - they had just done a skydive so were on a high! Qw then headed to a live music bar which was packed - the guitarist was amazing. After there we hit Cocomangoes - it was empty so we just sat talking as it filled up. Gradually all daves friends left so the two of us hit Cheeky Monkeys - the must go to bar in Byron Bay - drunken fun - bar with no dancefloor so everyone dances on reinforced tables creating a bar with a difference! It was so much funny - music was cheesy and the place was packed.

26th feb - from today the rest of my time in oz was set - i booked myself on a canoe safari, fraser isalnd trip and whitsundays sailing trip - it means i have a tight schedule to follow for the next few weeks but will hopefully be worth it. So today is my last day in Byron - the weather is not too great but i cant come to Byron Bay without spending a few hours on the beach so thats what i do with my afternoon. The heavens opened early evening as i was making tea. The two Jersey boys had also ended up at the same hostel as me- they accused me of following them but this time they were following me! I started getting ready for a night out and drinking - got chatting to Carla, an irish girl in my room so i sat with her and her friend for the rest of the evening. At 11pm the hostel closes all communual areas so we headed to Cocomangoes where i bumped into dave and his friends again. Was sat chatting to two girls from Dundee when i recognised a face across the bar - it was Nick, an American i had met in Perth - never thought our paths would cross again so it was completely random! i said my goodbyes to everyone not long after as have an early start tomorrow - off to Noosa.
