After being back a few days, Jayne, Grant & myself decide to hotfoot it to West Wales to catch up with the extended family, Clive, Gail, Owen, Graham, Wendy, Claire and Steve & not forgetting Sir James Dalton Esq. of the esteemed Black Lion Hotel. The flight on the A380 was very good, so good that you don't even feel the plane take off and I almost didn't feel it land either...but land it did. We were now back in Merry Olde Blighty....and we felt the cold as soon as we got off the plane. Next up was the laughing stock known as British Immigration. The UK & EU queue was in chaos with only 3 people on the desks, the automatic scanner section was closed but no one bothered to let anyone know and so mayhem...

We get up at 4.30am....get sorted out, shower etc...then lug the bags down the steep stairs of the hotel....then a quick walk to Victoria Railway Station....we manage to get a London Black Cab....and head off to Liverpool Street Station...very quickly. The Cabbie floors it ..cursing everyone and swearing merrily away...he jumps about 8 red lights and gets us there within 7 minutes..impressed, he gets left a tip. Off to auspicious start....as most of our trip will be on the railways, we head to our local train station for the 20 minute ride to Cardiff....only to find the trains have been cancelled. so we board the bus provided and head to Cardiff...in a very roundabout manner...it ends 2 hours later due to roads being closed at Caerphilly...so we leave Wales as we know it only too well......in a state of chaos.
