....Even the Yappity Dog they brought on board with them yelped along to their racket. Even if you stuck your head into the 40mph gusts of wind on the starboard the monotonous shrieking of the 2 note whiny bagpipes still permeated your eardrums. If I was the Captain, they'd have all been put in the brig, the yappity dog would be swimming for shore and their whiny bagpipes would be having a Viking send off over the port side.
At 1.15am it stopped. But the yappity dog didnt...The Yappity dog was demanding an encore! At 1.20 am The Greek Islands Folk Club joined back in. At 1.30am they reopened the Bar and coffee shop as so many people were now awake. I was surprised the passengers hadnt taken to the lifeboats or jumped overboard. I was tempted.
We headed back below and tried to sleep. I dont know how Grant did. I at least had my headphones in playing Joy Division to drown out the cacophony coming from above deck.
At 3.00am I awoke. The Greek Islands Folk Club were still at it. I was beginning to understand why the Turks have waged so many wars against these islands.
As I said at the begginning of this blog....The day started sane enough.

Gareth Gibbs The rough with the smooth! I can empathise, I hate loud music in stores here, but your description of it all reminds me of how I used to feel hearing you play The Sex Pistols music all the time. It can only get better. Love from me in the USA. Pa.

Ian Walby All those years in the Cross listening to MabSant must have assisted in drowning out the din! This is what good times are made of, but only when you look back in 15 years time! I’m sure the islands will seem all the better once you get the sand between your toes.
