We left TDG at 8 am. There had been many tears the night before following the cultural night, and many returned as we farewelled the ladies who had cared for us for the past eight days. Godo, was again to be our driver and so with disco music thumping in the bus we set forth on the return trip to Yangon. We made great time to Toungoo, but it was the final stretch inside outer and inner Yangon that took the time. It was two hours before we reached the Diamond Crown. Realistically, we canned he second visit to Scott's Markets and Helen and I took a group across the road to "buy an ice cream" and then explored the area around this small group of shops. In a back line, plastic cane balls we bought, DVDs, (3 for 1000K) and life in an apartment block viewed. It was only a very angry dog that stopped us exploring further....and the heat.
While wandering back we came across......a French Restaurant. It had opened soon after we had departed on January 2nd and we negotiated an evening meal for the pilgrims.
Yum! Yum! Yum!
5 star service......beautifully decorated. The pilgrims loved it....as did their tummies. Not pure French fare for them.....beef and chicken hamburgers, pizza, pasta, beef dishes.
