I remember our first night in Manila in 2012 and thinking....... what are we doing here, this is all so , so different, how will we adjust? Similar thoughts went through my mind after the "internal panic" of getting all the paperwork, visa etc ready for immigration and then finding the process quite smooth. While I grabbed the bags, Helen went and exchanged some Singapore dollars for local money..... forgot to tell her to take a wheelbarrow. Talking with Brad, he was saying that years ago they used to have some strange denominations like 45 notes. Then they withdrew all these odd notes and replaced them with what we have now. Driving is on the right handside... this was an overnight change too, some time ago so you have righthand drive cars on the right handside. Traffic..... Perth is so peaceful. The attached photo is off the city centre from our hotel room. The hotel is newish, staff very polite, food very nice and reasonable. (Main meal $3). At 9.30 we are off to meet, greet and explore some parts of the city....as you can see not many skyscrapers
