hello all, well we made it safe and sound to port st.johns, where we were staying at Amapondos, we spent 3 nights here, a lovely place in the hills 2 min from the beach. we went on hikes to other beaches and waterfalls. we mangaed to try some of the local seafood - octopus and fresh crayfish yum!!!lots of random wildlife here - cows on the beach and the cats were always fighting with the monkeys. it was a very peaceful place and we met some nice people there. we managed to get a lift into town with a local school bus very interesting. Andrew managed to get a good drinking session in with a lad we met called duncan(they were like to peas in a pod scary) he suffered the next day travelling to Coffee Bay. Here we were going to stay a while as there was lots to do, but just our luck the heavens opened for 2 days solid. The big problem was that we were staying over a river that you had to wade across to get to your hut, not fun when its cold and the novelty soon wore off, all our clothes very very wet. But andrew did managed to have a very successful 2 hour surf lesson in the rain, while i just sat and watched, being looked after by 2 very racist dogs. When the rain did not stop we thought it was best to move on, we moved on to Cinsta on monday where we are now until sunday as it is so nice, we have a lovely big cottage to stay in and its again over looking the beach. We have been kayaking, this was interesting as 1st andrew hit me in the head with the orr, then we kept getting stuck in the sand, that sucked andrew in when he got out to move us, but we managed 3 hours ( i did all the rowing back) that evening andrew faced another challenge of catching a large bat that was flying around our room, very funny to see him with a flash light and feather duster. Today we spent it all on the beach topping up our tans, now we are off for a spot of pool and a few beers, lovely x x
