Getting lost while exploring
I quite enjoyed having a two-day birthday. On Thursday, all the Facebook messages started as it was my NZ / Australia birthday. So, I took this to mean that my birthday had officially started and that I got birthday girl special treatment.
"Your turn to drive"........."Nah it's my birthday".
"I cooked so you can do dishes"........"But it's my birthday".
This went on for two days, I learnt from the best (Katie-Lee).
Sam was feeling the pressure of travelling and organising a present etc. But he exceeded all expectations. I had a fabulous official birthday on Friday the 11th of April. I woke up to coffee and pancakes in bed. We took our time getting ready and had a cruise day.
Sam dropped me at a salon to get a manicure and pedicure, which was such a treat after hippie van living for so long. I couldn't get over how cheap it was, only $20 for both. I'd get them done weekly or at least fortnightly for that cost!
When Sam collected me I got back to the van to find a bunch of red roses, a cupcake with a candle & a bag of skittles (my fav). Spoilt!
We had booked dinner at a Thai restaurant that we had been recommended and headed there after my pampering. We were early so walked up the street and visited a surf store called San Franpsycho. The staff were really cool and the guy gave us some recommendations on where to visit etc.
Dinner was lovely and we quite enjoyed eating a meal that didn't come with a side of fries. Afterwards, we returned to our now local donut shop, Donut World. Delicious donuts for only .99cents.
