This Christmas was like none we've ever had. Felt rather strange to be eating mangoes and sweating in eighty plus degree heat on Christmas day. Good news for us is that Santa & Mrs. Klause travel. Mr. & Mrs. Santa Frantz/Coleman dawned their shorts and made the trip down south and boy did they deliver! We met them at the San Jose Airport in Costa Rica on Christmas Eve and they treated us to a very luxurious week at the nicest digs thus far. Adam and I were thrilled to sleep in a clean and comfortable bed, shower without sandals on, and drink water out of the tap. The week of Christmas was spent exploring Volcan Poas, visiting wildlife parks, relaxing at the beach and shopping in San Jose. Besides catching up with Mr. & Mrs. Klaus, the highlight of the week had to be the animals, many of whom we met and saw up close for the very first time. We handfed toucans, walked among the butterflies, searched for colorful tropical frogs, and had a very brief conversation with a parrot (Hola! about seven or eight times). A special thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Klause and my beautiful new niece, Natali, for making this Christmas a very memorable one.
