It's the day before we leave to start Genny and Adam's Great Adventure, and it seems that the closer we have gotten to our departure date, the more questions people have for us. So Genny and I decided to do a little FAQ blog to help answer a few questions.
Question 1: "Are you nervous? excited? scared?"
Adam: I am definately a little of all three. It is surreal that we have been working so long to get to this point and that now it is here. I am excited for the things that we'll see, the people we'll meet, and for the experiences we'll have. At the same time too, I am both nervous and a little afraid of the unknown. Where will we stay, how will we get from point A to point B? I wonder about all the little things that I can't do anything about until we actually are in the situation. On the other hand, I know we'll be fine.
Genny: Well put Adam. Ok, it's going to sound rather silly, but you know what I'm nervous most about? Not having my favorite foods! This thought of deprivation has led to me indulge BIG time in every treat I encounter. Never knew I would stress about potentially not having powdered doughnouts.
Question 2: "Why do you want to go on this trip?"
Adam: I find that the times in my life that I have grown the most, be it emotionally, mentally, or spiritually, have been the times when I have done things outside of my comfort bubble. I can't even begin to describe how far out of my comfort bubble this trip will be. Needless to say, I expect this trip to be quite life changing. Maybe I could use some of the extra growth for my hair.
Genny: Dreams are meant to be lived. A friend of mine once said "Life is much more interestingly lived on the edge."
Question 3: "Are you guys crazy?"
Adam: uhhhhhh.....
Genny: Pretty sure you guys know the answer to that one already.
Question 4: "What are you bringing with you?" (The picture above is of everything that we are taking, and if you keep reading you'll begin to understand that phrase, "a picture speaks a thousand words.")
