We weren't really sure how we would feel returning to the states after our 6 month journey to south and central America. Although it was sad to see our trip come to an end, we were happy to see our families and friends again. And I must say, we sure do have a new found appeciation for the small things in life like hand soap and toilet paper (we mention it so often that I think we may have freaked out a few people). Overall, our few weeks back have been extremely relaxing. Although we've done quite a bit of traveling between the two coasts since we've been back, it's nice to know the bed you are sleeping in is clean and enjoy some of the foods we missed during our trip.
As for next steps, we have been offered seasonal positions at the Aquarium and will be returning to Monterey for the summer. We are excited about returning to our beloved fish bowl and can't wait to catch up with our friends there. Adam is psyched to be returning to the husbandry team again, where he will be taking care of the animals and I scored a job as the underwater explorer's assistant supervisor in the summer program that gives kids the chance to give scuba diving a try. In October we will head to the East coast to visit Adam's family just in time for the spectacular colors of fall in Vermont. Afterwhich, we will commence the second leg of our trip to Asia, most likely visiting South East Asia, Nepal, India and possibly China. Since our life in Monterey will not involve too many new sights and adventures, we will be resuming our website updates in the fall. Thank you all for your messages and support, you don't know how much your kind words and encouragement have meant to us.
