With predictable Samways resistance to change, I'm having a rubbish first day in New Zealand. It's not fair to blame the entire country for it, especially as we only arrived here at 5.30pm local time. I'm just absolutely knackered from having no sleep recently and being cooped up on the plane over from Melbourne. And I am massively regretting not reading up on the country before we arrived here because I'm feeling a bit at sea, not knowing where anywhere is or what or we should be visiting.
The only notable incident today was that I got told off going through Immigration at Auckland Airport, due to my relentless pursuit of photo evidence of our travels. I think I might have been having a blonde moment because it didn't occur to me that it might not be a great idea to take a picture in airport security... The offending photo was duly deleted from my camera!
Other than that we've been mostly travelling so haven't seen much of Auckland. As we were flying into New Zealand though it did look incredibly green and Auckland seems quite neat and tidy. It's absolutely tiny though - I can't believe it's the biggest city in the entire country! I think five weeks here might be a bit too much time but I'm hoping to be proven wrong.
Anyway, I'm off to bury my head in my pillow and hopefully wake up tomorrow in a more positive, cheery mood. Though, due to a balls up at the hostel, Jim and I are having to share a double room instead of a twin so I may have snoring at close proximity to contend with...
Miss you all loads x x x
