I love Byron Bay. It is everything I hoped it would be - full of cool shops, cafes, alternative therapies and chilled out, studenty types. Plus a few local nutters keeping it interesting! In fact, we both like it so much that we've extended our stay here by a night, sacking off our pitstop at Coff's Harbour. Our hostel is amazing too - big pool, clean kitchen (dull but amazing), comfy beds, hammocks, great common room areas... And the people staying here are so much less chavvy too.
Today we enjoyed a lie in before wandering around the town, checking out the beach and walking up to the lighthouse at Cape Byron to check out the stunning view. We had lunch and then relaxed on the beach for the rest of the afternoon. Again, not a particularly eventful day but one of my favourite Sundays ever. I think I would like to live here!
The only slight blight on and otherwise perfect day is the fact that Bob Marley has been played on repeat at the hostel for about four hours now. And that brings me to the main problem with stoner music - because they are stoned they're obviously too monged to realise that a) the music they're listening to is deadly dull and b) that they're listening to the same track over and over and OVER AGAIN! Hearing a Bob Marley tack once is bad enough but hearing the same one ad infinitum makes me want to rip my own ears off. I'd happily strangle whoever made the playlist with a hammock but think that might contradict the whole peace and love vibe here at Byron Bay! See, still having violent thoughts - I'm not a hippy yet!
Love you all x x x
