After a few days back in Melbourne, it was time to move on again, and i booked to a 2 day tour along the Great Ocean Road and Grampians to Adelaide. The Great Ocean Road is a really picturesque coastal route, with a rugged coastline, small bays, and forest inland. We had various stops along the way, to see the main attractions, such as Bells Beach, the 12 Apostles, London Bridge, and some other beaches which I can't recall the names of! The 12 Apostles was great (even though there isn't 12 of them!) as I opted to to do the scenic helicopter flight to get a better view. I definitely think it was worth it as it gave me a brilliant view of the apostles, and the whole coastline, which you just can't appreciate from the land. We also managed to stop and spot some Wild Koalas along the way, which was great!!

The second day we went to the Grampians, which is (another!) national park with forest and waterfalls etc!

Overall, in retrospect I should have gone for a longer tour, because the 2 day tour was quite rushed, and even then the days were very long and tiring. It would have been good to spend longer at each of the places, and maybe check out some quiter beaches along the way.

Anyway, onto Adelaide....Nothing really significent to say about Adelaide!!! It's a very small city, think the population is only 1.5million, there are some nice bars and quite interesting buildings along the North and East Terrace, there are lots of parks, and it's nice and relaxed by the river, but there aren't really any great landmarks or must do's. So I wouldn't say you have really missed out if you haven't been there!!

The one thing Adelaide has got going for it though is the Fringe Festival. The Fringe was on when I went back to Adelaide after Alice Springs, but I'll include it in this Blog to keep all Adelaide together!! The Adelaide Fringe is the 2nd biggest fringe Festival in the world (2nd only to Edinburgh), and it was brilliant fun. There are thousands of comics, music, arts and theatre acts on over a few weeks, so there is loads of things to choose to do every day while it is on. My favourite place was the 'Garden of Unearthly Deights' which was a contemporary circus set up in one of the parks, with lots of funky tents, food stalls, and bars, fairy lights in the trees, and a few traditional circus rides. It was a cool place to hang out. I went to see a couple of the acts while I was there, and had a drink with some of the comics in the artist bar after a show one night, which was a fun night out!
