Hi everyone...so I am back up to date with my blogs now, hooray!!! I need to get my photo's sorted and uploaded as well, but that is going to have to wait, because I don't have the patience to be honest!!
I am in Perth at the mo, and it's great! I flew over here last Thursday, but I nearly didn't catch the flight! I had remembered to set the Alarm time on my phone for 5.30am to give me time to get up and ready, checked out of the hostel, onto the Airport bus and checked in for my 8.05am...but I didn't remember to switch the Alarm on...oops! Luckily, some other person's alarm went off at 6.25 and woke me, it was then a big rush but I somehow managed to get up, at the airport and checked in by 7.20! It shows how much I have changed since i came travelling; 1) There is no way I would have been able to get up 1.5 hours before my flight and still make it, and 2) I wasn't at all stressed about the fact I was probably going to miss the flight, i was just thinking, what's the worse that can happen; i miss the flight and get a later one today or tomorrow!
So with my new completely laid back outlook I am really enjoying being over here in 'Wait Awhile' (WA). It is sooo relaxed here, and everyone is really friendly. The downside is it is very easy to do nothing and lose days here...I haven't seen much here yet, because I have spent far too much time and money in the hostel cafe/bar! But I have met a great bunch of people, and had a good time, so it's not been wasted.
Perth itself is very small, and not too busy, so it has a feel of a town rather than a City. There are no real significient buildings or landmarks, but it's just got a very nice feel, and the shopping centre is pretty good.
I have visited some nice beaches (Scarborough and Cottesloe), and my favourite place so far is Fremantle. Somebody told me that the Fremantle has recently been voted the friendliest place in Australia, and from what I have seen so far, i believe them! Freo, as the locals call it, it a small seaside town, with a bit of a hippy vibe, weekend markets, some really good bars and cafe's, and of course the 'Little Creatures Brewery', which has a really good restaurant with great seafood, and is always buzzing.
Part of the reason i haven't done too much sight seeing as yet is because i am waiting for Mum, kerry and Marcus to come over and see me next week. I can't wait to see them, and I will do more travelling once they get here.
Take care everyone, and I'll update you all again soon...xx
