After a extermely long 17hr bus ride which was only made better by the fact I actually got some decent sleep about 7hrs worth, I got off the bus grabbed my gear and headed for the taxi to take me to the hostel after a bit of batering with the driver on the price of the ride (since I was a foreigner he decided to charge me 5 times the price) he agreed to take the correct price I was told by the hostel and I got in. After around 7hrs on the bus from La Serena Antofagasta marked the mid way point of the bus trip and allowed me to stretch my legs and getting a bite to eat before getting back on the bus for the next leg thank god its a night bus and I can sleep through most of it!! Only 10hrs to go....

After leaving Valparaiso In the mouring I caught a bus to La Serena which took around 7 hours, Im only staying here 1 night as a small pitstop to break up what would have been a 24hr bus ride to Iquique in the north.
