Finally, I am in laos, and the journey here was wicked!

We crossed the border by longtail boat, and then we had booked a speed boat to take us here to luang prabang. The speedboat was going to do a two day journey in 6 hours!?

the boat itself was a minor problem, in that it was smaller than a longtail boat, which caused problems for six of us on one tiny boat going at 60 mph down the mekong.

needless to say it was actualy quite good fun, and i really enjoyed the trip, despite having my kness in my face mostof the trip.

the scenery was amazing, and the city of luang prabang is no exception.

the architecture here is a mixture of lanna and french colonial, both of which make th place look fantastic.

So what have we been up to in this world heritage sight? well, the first day we went to the kuang si waterfall, and the photos do all the talking for this place.

it was incredible, so imaculate and beautiful that it almost seemed like it had been helped by man, but we went swimming there, jumping off waterfalls which was incredible.

after that, we went out to dinner, and spent about 5 pounds each on the best blow out meal ever.

We tried a local delicasy of fried river weed from the mekong, srpinkled with sesame seeds and chilli, and it puts crisps to shame.

then me and mossy shared some garlic bread, and then i had the mother of all beef steaks, served with; chips, mash, boiled veg, salad with dressing and a a baguette and butter! yes bring on the carbs

then after that we went bowling, which involved a small eight lane place, which is extra popular round her because everything else here by law shuts at about 11:30pm, and this place is open till 3am.

So i started off badly, but who whipped it out of the bag! me, yeah thats rght, i was consistent despite alcohol and i won! result.

so later i will climb a hill and see if i can get some good viewws of this place, and then tomorrow we are of to vang vieng to go tubing for a few days! party hard!
