Today we decided to go on the Monorail We walked from our hotel to Bally's and bought the tickets, we decided to travel as far as we could south and get off and start there - this took us to the Stratosphere Hotel. It was really hot and we were glad to get inside the hotel, we walked around and decided not to go up the stratosphere as we had previously done the space needle - Gaz said the experience was similar. After leaving the Stratosphere and buying some much needed water from a local garage, we once again boarded the monorail, we went all the way north and got off at MGM. We decided to go and explore some of the hotels, Luxor, Mandalay Bay and Excalibur. We made our way to Luxor and I asked about the Nile River ride - sadly they have removed it! What a shame, we were looking forward to that. Next we made our way to Excalibur we found a bar inside on Happy Hour! Had to stop and have a couple (or three) $2 beers and I had a beer and then a couple of Peach Bellini cocktails - delish! Moved on to Mandalay Bay - it is a huge hotel! One thing we didn't realise in Vegas, things/places appear closer than they actually are and we felt like we'd walked miles!

We got the monorail back to Bally's and went back to our hotel. We then went back to Ellis Island for dinner, I had chicken, and Gaz had steak. Lovely! Again I couldn't finish all of mine so got a box to take it back to the hotel.

That evening Gaz had arranged for us to meet up with his boss, Caroline and her partner Les who flew into Vegas for a week, the day before. We walked to Bally's and met up with them around 8.30pm - had a lovely evening, chatting, drinking and drinking some more!
