We finally got to the top still no fish but all is well. The country and ocean are beautiful. We had a horse try to steal our breakfast in seisia, fished off the wharf and then drove through the rainforest to the tip. Left Weipa this morning at 9am after picking up fresh bread and finger buns from the bakery. Headed out onto dirt roads again, some were good and some had those horrible corrugations we love so much. Saturday 15/9/12 Weipa. Did more washing, everything is covered in dust. Dennis washed the car so we can at least get into it without getting dirty. They love their burning off in qld. Arrived at Weipa this afternoon, the largest bauxite mine in the world which they use to make aluminium. The Caravan park is on the coast and very shadey with huge trees, and has a nice feel about it. However they have warned us t o stay away from one end near the river because there is a huge croc living there that attacked a person recently and took his leg ( we are at the other end).
