I woke up feeling ok. It could have been something to do with being sick after only 2 pints last night - and the bottle of water I had before I went to bed. I was up and showered before 9. Then we meet up with everyone from last night, some were not looking so good. I just had peanut butter on toast. Chris was feeling rough and didn't have anything. Our time in Seattle was coming to an end. We only had a couple of hours left before our greyhound bus. We did have time to go see the famous gum wall in Seattle. It was close to the market and next to a theatre. Their rules were no gum inside, and this resulted in people sticking their used gum on the outside of the building. This had happened a lot. Because now most of the building front is covered with multicoloured and flavoured chewing gum. The smell of mint in the air. I offered Chris $100 to lick the wall, but he declined! Lol.
We walked to the greyhound terminal, it was about 25 minutes away. It doesn't sound far, but when your carrying a 15 kilogram rucksack it's long.
Today was the first time our bus was delayed. Our driver eventually told us that it was because he was called out late. It was over an hour delayed. Considering its our first delay in four weeks it wasn't so bad.
While waiting there a guy was messing around at the coke machine. Not sure if he could see very well, but he came over to me and Chris and asked "Which numbers the coke!" He sounded like a robot. It was really funny. "8E - i told him!" I felt a little bad when I had to tell him that his credit card declined and that's why no coke was coming out. You really do get some crazies hanging around greyhound stations & onboard the buses! When I get back I think I am going to write a book about my greyhound experience! Lol
The coach was the busiest we have been on. It was packed. We just managed to get seats together. We have now left the state of Washington and now travelling to Oregon! Ans the city of Portland!
It was just getting dark as we arrived in Portland. We had a short ride on the metro to our Motel (our first Motel). It wasn't the best looking. Our room had a funny smell. We opened the window as soon as we got in.
This is the Motel on hostelworld.com that had bedbugs, just talking about them made me feeling itchy. We headed out for some food. The town seemed very quiet, not a lot going on. We ended up grabbing some food form a Thai food cart. It was actually amazing, a little spicy but so nice! I think It might have been the cheapest meal I have had! We took it back to the room and moved the furniture around so we could eat at a table. Watched a little tv. Tomorrow time to explore Portland!
