Today we had a lot to do. We have a number of attractions within our city pass to use that we didn't get chance to use yesterday. We started the morning with the free breakfast at the hostel. We walked back through the market and via the actual original Starbucks. Had an actual coffee from the original Starbucks today. (Well I had a pumpkin spice cream!) The logo is very different. We actually found out that Seattle alone had 120 Starbucks in the city there were everywhere, on every corner. We walked to the space needle also known as an observation tower. It's not the biggest we have been up, but it had great views over the city. It was 520 foot. It was clear and warm so we could see the mountain ranges in the distance. I asked the lift attendant what was the name of these mountains and she advises "Olympia".
Form here we walked down to the front, the location of the boat cruise and aquarium. We booked our tickets for the boat, and had to wait an hour. We walked around this very strange gift shops. One had dead animals on display. Including a two headed calf. It was really sick. Not sure they were for sale!
We left the pier onboard our hour boat trip. It was nice sitting outside in the sun, got some good views of the city skyline from the water. It was only an hour so it was ok. If it had been longer it might have got a little boring.
The Seattle aquarium is very small, it was all located on one of the piers, I think we walked around and had seen everything in about an hour. I think I could live without aquariums for a while. Walked back via the market and had a cheeky piece of pizza. Went into the city centre to have a look around the shops. I needed new jeans as mine are finished!
Tonight is free taco night at the hostel, free food. We were in the common room for about an hour before the dinner was ready watching the USA presidential debate. It was actually really interesting. Of course it doesn't really effect us but I'm team Obama.
Dinner was actually really nice and there was loads of food. Chatted to a few of the guys at the hostel and we have the pub crawl tonight! We got changed and ready for a night hitting the Seattle nightlife. We were only going to local bars - that suited us and meant we didn't have far to get back! The first bar was Can Can it was an underground bar that was really close. Live music as well which was good.
Chatted with the other guys also on the pub crawl. Shell, Matt, Mak Andy and Lucy from the UK, Dave from Australia, movie guy from Chicago and a few others but I don't remember their names (Mike I think!). I had eaten a lot of food, and with a couple of beers within 30 minutes I really didn't feel great. In fact I had to go to the toilet and chuck up! Gross I know, I wasn't drunk, just really full - I felt 100% better after. I had gum and returned to the gang! Continued drinking! Ha ha. ( I didn't tell Chris until the next day).
Next bar was up the road, I can't remember the name. But they had a free pool table! Had a couple of games and had lost both, I guess I had had to many beers! They also had another free game like curling but on a much smaller scale. Me and Chris are now on the so'co.
our final bar was a pinball bar. (Az you would have loved it!) It must have had about 40 machines. Of course I had a couple of games. Wasn't great - but I had to have a play. The beer was cheap!
I lost Chris - (Don't worry Abi, I could see him the whole time!) I lost him in the sense he was talking to a guy from Chicago, all about movies. He was talking for at least 3 hours. I was chatting to other people! But they were on film talking marathon. We then started on the shots! Because that's how we roll.
It was a really good night and it was about one o'clock when we left. Arriving back at the hostel we chilled with everyone in the common room area - slowly people headed to bed. We had arranged to meet up for our free breakfast tomorrow!
