... I think that must have been the worst nights sleep since I've been in Thailand! The animals were driving me mad, (except the gecko's, they make the coolest noise!). The beds didn't help, they were pretty uncomfortable. .... Just North of Mae Taeng, we have just arrived at the small village were we are staying for the night! With only 30 houses, and about 200 people it's tiny! The local people are great...! The trek was about two and a half hours, and we even had to run past some bush fires on the way!! ... Look at the state of my feet after, I guess that's what you get for wearing camel toes!! The dinner that was cooked for us was great, and we had a short walk around the vi...

... After arriving late into Chiang Mai, our train pulled into the station about one o'clock in the afternoon, instead of 07:45. Which sadly meant we were unable to do our morning activity. Once we got to the hotel checked into our rooms, and we had some free time, scotty and me decided it walk around the block, sounded like a great idea, but we did get pretty lost!! So we ended up getting a taxi back to the hotel... The funny thing was, we has walked about 50 ...

... Nothing like part of your overnight train derailing to wake you up! At dead on midnight, their was a violent shudder onboard our train, I think most of the train woke up, and with in a minute or so the train started going again... Didn't really think anything of it. The next thing, we get another violent shudder like the train driver has just done an emergency stop... A few of us started laughing, as we had an ongoing joke about the train keep stopping!! ....

I'm currently laying on my bunk bed, onboard the night train (13hours) to Chiang Mai.
