On Tuesday we were picked up outside our travelagents at 9:00 by one of the jungle flight reps. We got to the base camp at 10:00am after a long winding bumpy ride there. We were harnessed in and packaged up, we were all laughing at one-another in our Tesco Deli hair nets as we walked to the first platform,
The first zipline was a short one. At this point Holly was still unsure if she could do it as she was afraid of heights, but she was fine. I was the first one to jump off out of our group of 10. Holly was next then Georgia then Garath. Along with the squealing we shouted "Package delivery!" as we flew through the jungle all packaged up! There were many inuendos throughout the day. An older man in our group was a "heavy package!" according to him, It didnt look like it to us! we all fell about laughing!
There were 36 platforms linked by zipline's and abseil's. The longest zipline was 40 feet. They ranged from 5-50 feet off the jungle floor. My favourite zipline was one where we were harnessed from the back so we had nothing to hold on to, it was like we were flying! There was another good one where two people were harnessed on together and raced. At the end was a sign saying "Jungle flight happy ending" Im glad I didnt know there was a un-happy ending at the start.
When we had finished our 3hours of wizzing around we had our lunch at the jungle flight base camp. There was so much food, curry, soup, veg, fish, chicken and chips. It was all realy good and just kept coming till we had to sat please no more. We were given 4 free post cards each before we left, bonus!
It was an amazing day had by all. We were sad to see Holly and Georgia go in the evening, but they had to get to Bangkok to fly home. We wish they could have stayed for longer, and we could have traveled with them for a while, they were down to earth and hilariously funny. We will be keeping in contact and visiting each other when we get home.
