Adventures of Gamblegirl: A comparison
Hmm been ages since I've written but have been busy. Yes that's my piss weak excuse for this entry and I'm sticking with it.
But I thought that I'd do a bit of a comparison between Melbourne Winter and London Winter. Apparently the English this year have had their winter (ie they blinked and it was over) but I'm stuck in the middle of an Melbournian winter.
It's a big statement but I think that a Melbournian winter is colder. Sure it snows in the UK and it does get pretty cold but bloody hell!! This winter is cold enough to make an iceberg relocate to the Caribbean. From memory I was living in Melbourne not two suburbs away from Antartica.
While in London, it's just cold, gray and gloomy, there's something really deceptive about a Melbournian winter. For starters it's sunny so you think la la la it's sunny it wont be that bad. From the moment that you step outside the bitter chill just cuts through your Michellin Man protective layering. It's cold.
Side note: Dear Wimbledon - get covering over your courts. Really there are some traditions that should be updated.
Hugs and kisses from your neighbourhood freak
