Lucerne, Lucerne, Lucerne, so gorgeous!
So after an early wake up we went to go up Mt.Pilatus! To get up the mountain we took a gondola and then a cable car. Once up the mountain (through the clouds), we climbed up some stairs to the look out and looked out at the mountain ranges ( absolutely amazing!). We then explored some of the other parts of the mountains, including the caves, and everywhere you looked there was a beautiful view! To get down the mountain, we jumped on the little train, the steepest in the world apparently.
When in Switzerland, try fondue is what I was told. So for lunch we had some fondue and saw a Swiss show. The show involved yodeling, playing the big tune thing ( I'm so bad with names of things), playing other random Swiss instruments and flag throwing. It was a really great, enjoyable and interactive show!
After lunch it was shopping time :) and when in Switzerland why not buy a Swiss army knife. Switzerland is also famous for watches but I decided I would save my money since I don't really wear a watch. Another famous Swiss product is chocolate and so I did try some Swiss chocolate :)
After shopping it was time for a cruise around lake Lucerne and when on a boat you drink, so it was time for a few beers.
After a big day we went to the pub for some food and I demolished my chicken schnitzel, salad, chips and another beer. After dinner we went for a lovely walk along the lake and then met everyone back at the pub.
We then proceeded to another pub over the river and had some more drinks. There was a drink called gema which contained 11 shots of different alcohol for $25 but I wasn't too game on mixing so much alcohol and it didn't taste very nice anyway. After drinking my cocktail, we made friends with some of the local Swiss army boys (boys in uniform ;) ).
So overall Lucerne was beautiful! I would love to go back and hike the mountains :) so hopefully sometime in the future I'll be able to do that!
Anyway I get to go to Paris tomorrow and I'm so excited! I can't wait to see everything again and to visit Diane because I've missed her heaps :) I'll see you guys in Paris. Au revior!
