Waking up to another Beautiful Rio day!
Today we got up early and had breakfast before heading out on a boat tour on gunabarra bay. The boat tour gave us views of rio and the northern city connected by a 14km long bridge. We saw a different view of sugar loaf mountain and Christ the redeemer. We spent 2 hours on the bay in the sunshine.
After the boat tour we went back to Ipanema and had a buffet style lunch with all you can eat salad and sushi and then men bringing around different cuts and types of meat. I had the chicken which was great and the garlic bread was amazing, and I can't forget the grilled cheese!
After this we stopped to do a quick shop before dropping our stuff and heading on the metro to maracana stadium, Brazil's most famous stadium and the site of the opening ceremony for the Olympics. The stadium is massive however it has been neglected. The main entrance looked deserted and the outside overgrown with weeds and no where to do a tour. Overall it was very sad to see.
After this we headed back on the train and had some dinner and a beer ahead of a big day of flying.
