Hello Brazil.
After an earl wake up from the late night before and a double check of the flight time we jumped in a taxi and headed to the domestic airport in buenos aires. Once checked in the through security (all in Spanish), we looked for a place to eat but we didn't have many options. After finding somewhere that does eggs we had to quickly scoff them down as our flight started to board. The flight was okay, it took about 30mins to get through the clouds and into clear sky. When we landed, the heat was intense, 32 degrees! Waiting at the airport was out transfer with my name on the board.
Our transfer drove us through the border, a stamp in Argentina and an arrival card in Brazil. We then were dropped at our resort hotel, where we quickly realised we knew no Portuguese. We had to wait for our room to be ready so we hung by the pool and I had a caipirinha (Brazilian cocktail).
We finally checked in and dropped our stuff and headed to the bird park. We got on the local bus, having to pay 3.5 real and walk through a turnstile on the bus. We got off at the right stop and made it to the bird park. The bird park helped to rescue birds that were smuggled and hurt. At the park I got up close to a toucan, they are amazing and got to hold a bird for a photo. After this we hopped back on the bus to the hotel.
That night we hopped again on the local bus into the town and ate dinner at a buffet style restaurant called Tropicana. It cost $37real to have a buffet with meat that they bring to the table on large skewers and slice off for you. I enjoyed the buffet salad and vegetables more than the meat. They also had dessert so I had a white choc and coconut pizza -yum :) after this we hopped back on the local bus and had a big sleep! Falls tomorrow :)
