Fresh from the Butcher
Merry Christmas from the sunny land down under!
For the past month I've been bussing up and down the west coast of Australia from Broome to Albany and as usual loving every minute of it!
The west coast has been a fantastic adventure although not very festive - sunshine and tropical beaches just don't feel like Christmas to me. So, to encourage a more festive WA, I thought that the 12 days of Christmas would sum up my time here, (and mean less time writing and more time in the sunshine for me!).
So, on the twelfth day of Christmas WA sent to me:
12 dolphins diving
11 schooners sloshing
10 singing Aboriginals
9 surfers surfing
8 emus preening
7 sharks a swimming
6 'roos a bouncing
5 golden pies
4 scuba dives
3 wine tours
2 national parks
And a tim tam and a cup of tea
My most memorable times in WA were on the trip up to Broome through Denham, Exmouth and Tom Price, where I saw wild kangaroos, emus, eagles; and sharks and dolphins which swam right up to the beach. I also had fun singing karaoke in a local bar in Broome with some lovely Aboriginals, scuba diving the ningaloo reef, trekking in both Kalbarri and Karijini national parks and swimming in the fresh cool pools in the park's canyons. In the south west of WA I really loved diving the HMS Swan Wreck in Dunsborough and visiting lots of wineries in Margaret River - delicious!
Am now back in sunny Perth for a few days and then I fly to Sydney on the 23rd December for Christmas and New Year on the beach.
Hope your 12 days of Christmas are fabulously merry
All my love
Lindsxxx
