This is a small area that serves as a safe harbor for boaters and scuba divers.

Everywhere in the Faroes looks just like this. Incredibly steep and lush mountains, a charming village at the base, ocean, sea birds (where birds?), and really not many tourists. Today is the most I've seen...probably because of the excellent weather. There are so many beautiful areas I just stopped taking pictures. I'm overwhelmed with the beauty here. Everywhere you look. I will have to ask my Faroese hosts if they see the same thing after living here so long....

The sea cliff at Gjógv. It probably has a place name, everything here does. Ok, I'm being lazy. The name of the cliff is Nasin. I think it means 'tall cliff that overweight tourists trudge up to take pictures'. Well, I joined the party!

Another peek at Kalsoy. Not much there but one immense ridge line that spans the entire island.

The views at Gjógv were spectacular. The best of the trip so far, mainly because the other days were mostly clouds. The island you see in the distance is Kalsoy. Maybe 10 miles long and one mile wide. No flat ground. As soon as you get off the ferry the one road goes north through 4 tunnels. I'm still thinking about driving there tomorrow but, since ot is Saturday the ferry connections are poor and I'd have to wait for 6 or 8 hours to return. Still conjuring th...
