My new burro which will transport me safely across the wild, and tourist ridden, unearthly landscape of Iceland! It has 5 on the floor and nearly 10 horse power...that's a hundred burro power though! Gets good gas mileage (with $7/gal petrol!)

Beautiful coastline. I think the southern ring road drive is possibly more beautiful than highway 1 in California. Btw, the ring road is also highway 1.

This is Myrdalsjökull glacier and a sign showing a recent volcanic eruption. If you look closely you might see the lightening in the sign photo.

Some times having a tourist around is ok, they do the darndest things. I saw a bunch of cars stopped, so methinks this must be important. Well, after 3 or 4 miles of walking I arrived at the spectacle of an airplane wreckage literally crawling with hundreds of tourists in all manner of embarrassing poses and stunts. With some judicious timing, and lots of luck, I got a reasonable image. Th 4 mike hike out was a little like "why did I follow 700 people out there...
