Terry has just written an e mail and so I will keep this short! We really loved the Pelaponnese and found so many beautiful passes and mountain towns. We hit the coast and started north . All the towns were quiet as the season has finished and we could park on the edge of the shoreline and enjoy strolling along the seaside. The weather has been lovely and warm hitting 30 degrees and feeling great!
Yesterday we arrived at Mount Olympus and found that you can park overnight in the carpark at the end of the road and then walk straight up !!!!!! We enjoyed a couple of hours walking in the trees. It was very warm but we were above the clouds and couldn't see the plain and the coast beneath us.
There was a Belgian couple and a German couple there too. We chatted to the Belgians and exchanged experiences.
It was much cooler this morning and we dropped back down to the coast. It is a 3 hour walk up to the top of the mountain and we had done quite a lot yesterday and didnt want to do it again.
The temp went back up to 17 straight away!!! Happily the views were fantastic as we dropped down . It is special to be on mount Olympus for my birthday!!!'
We will head north again passing through Thessalonika and then towards the Bulgarian border, probably tomorrow.
