Fran here. Sorry we have not written a blog in seven days! Gasp! We have been very preoccupied.
We arrived at Krabi and decided that since our guide book had raved about the mangrove tour at Ko Klang (a small island off Krabi), to take a day trip there. We booked a tour as soon as we got to Krabi and then got onto a small boat to explore what we thought would be the amazing mangrove extravaganza! It turned out to be really, really quite boring. It lasted for 3 hours! All it was were these really tiny mangrove trees along a river and we were both so hungry we couldn't even begin to try and appreciate them. We stopped off at a few places along the way, including a fish farm where they showed us some puffer fish which was quite interesting but it really wasn't worth the money.
We stayed one night in Krabi and then moved onto Koh Samui and stayed in the backpackers district, at this really nice and really cheap beach hut, which had an amazing beach. While we were there we booked a day trip to Ang Thong National Marine park and took a boat over in the morning. On the boat we met these really loud and talkative dutch people, who fired questions at us for about four hours, it was like being on a quiz show or something, i don't even know how you can find that many questions to ask. At the park we did some kayaking which was fun, but Anna and I were the weaklings of the group, the Jimmy's of the trip, and were way behind the others and they all had to wait for us which was quite embarrasing.
After Ko Samui we then moved onto Koh Phangan and stayed there for the full moon party, which was so fun! We met these English girls from the resort we were staying at and went out with them most nights and to full moon, so we made friends! The atmosphere was amazing, 30,000 people all jiving at the same time. It was pretty intense. So much glow paint and many bruises in the morning. They sold these drinks called "buckets" which are exactly what they sound like! 200bht (4 pounds ish) and you get a BOTTLE of vodka and a splash of coke. Leathal. Queue the darkened room, nursing heads and dehydrated faces.
We are now at Koh Tao which is so beautiful, probs the best island we've been to so far and we're just going to do some snorkelling and work on our non existent tans, before moving up to the coast near Bangkok. At the moment we are spending lots of money and we're both not really sure how, we think its mostly the boats and moving islands frequently, because our accom and food is quite cheap. We are also permently covered in sand which is very annoying and we're looking forward to moving up north just to get away from it. We're staying in bamboo huts on the beach which are beautiful but tiny, pretty much a single rug on the floor for us to sleep on, and no room for our bags! But it's so lovely and on the beach we can't complain.
Anywooo thats it for now, will write again later! Bye!!

In addition to this we forgot to mention the group of 14 australien people who are all morbidly obese and were all very passionate about sharing their thoughts on 9/11, yes, controvercial. One of them INSISTED that jews were the ruleres of the world and that they knew 9/11 was going to happen because 5000 of them were absent from work in the Twin towers that day... then he goes, "yeah I know, COINCIDENCE? I think not.... I found that on google". Which is obviously widly known to be the most factual location known to man. Duh.
We're going up north to Chaing Mai tomorrow for elephants, hill tribes, efnik stuff, zip wires and general culcha which we're both reallllyy looking forward to - a change from the constant gritty skin and thin layer of dirt we're sporting.
We also had a thai massage yesterday which was... an... experience. To say the least. I fell over at full moon and am covered in bruises but she made them SO much worse after digging her thumbs in to every inch of my skin. Then she pulls you into varying positions until you've clicked in places you didn't know you could click. She yanked my neck so that I clicked all the way down my spine, knobble by knobble. Very bizarre experience. I was expecting a relaxing gentle massage and hobbled out of the place an hour later. More of a contact sport!! Though it did feel a bit better after the clicking but then after our nights un-sleep in the shack I think everything has gone back to it's achy self. Woe is us. Definatly recommend it if you're coming here though... Uncle T you should definatly come here and experience it!! A new take on sport massaging.
Today we're just chillin' on the beach again, attempting to prove we've actually been away (as our skin tells another story, dirty homless cretins).

Uncle T Hi, sand-wallahs. I have heard of these massages and their take-no-prisoner methods! Usually from beefy blokes who have them for a larf and still come out crying, so you sound like you were quite tough to endure it. Impressed. Respect. I shall look forward to your re-enactment in the safe confines of the lounge, once your stock of natural nitrogen is topped up. Meanwhile good luck with the tan! Txx
