After all the diving, snorkeling and chatting with fellow travelers, I still have 70% of easter island unexplored, but only half a day left. So I need to move faster. Could rent a car, but that would be boring and expensive, so I collect all my courage and rent a Quad, which I've never used, but people tell me it's easy. Indeed, it's just throttle and brake, so after overcoming the first bit of anxiety I'm quite comfortable with it and it's a lot of fun. Especially, because it's so easy to drive over dirt roads with this thing.
So I take the big tour around the north and east part of the island. Go to Anakena first (the snorkeling place), where I coincidentally meet my fellow travelers (it IS a small island). We snorkel again (twice), and there's another Pufferfish, but since I'm not so good at catching them yet, it gets away and I don't get a good foto of it. The beast has a tactical advantage - it can breathe under water.
Further on, I visit Hanga Tetenga (a platform with 15 Moai's), and the Quarry (Maunga Te Kahu Rere), which is really impressive. The Quarry is at a crater wall and lot's of Moai's that have been carved out of the stone and been "parked" there are standing or lying around.
