We ate breakfast in the Emirates Club at the airport - smoked salmon and Moët, before flying to London. Anthony was unimpressed with the exit row seats he had paid extra for. Firstly, there was nowhere to put anything and then the flight attendant stepped on his foot. Not once, not twice, but three times! She did apologise once. Then while he was sleeping another passing passenger stomped on his foot - bruised and battered he was not a happy camper.
Arriving at Heathrow was another adventure. Such a contrast to Dubai airport and Sydney's for that matter. Miles of walking through linoleum lined hallways, up stairs, on a bus, down more corridors, in a lift and down more walkways before arriving in the 'connections' queue. Took over an hour to process about 15 people before going through security and then walking along more corridors and escalators to go through security again. No automatic scanning of passports here! All of this before arriving at the connecting flight to get photographed for the second time before boarding. It seemed to be an inefficient system with lots of double handling.
We arrived in Glasgow to a sunny warm afternoon. 26 degrees versus the 38 degrees in Dubai. Much more pleasant!
