Today we left our hotel and headed towards the railway station to catch our fast train to Rostock. We travelled at approximately 200 kph before changing to another train to Warnemunde and our cruise ship.
Boarding of the Regal Princess was due to commence at 1:00 pm. We arrived at 12:30 and boarded in minutes. We were in our cabin by 12:45.
Our main task was to then have lunch, explore the ship and generally orientate ourselves. That is, figure out which end of the ship was which while inside! There were a multitude of bars and spaces to sit in and relax - more than we would have time to use. Plus there were hardly any other passengers on board at this point. We had the entire Piazza area to ourselves.
This ship is also known as "The Love Boat" and was officially launched by the cast of the original series. It is a fairly new ship and the decor has moved away from the usual garish cruise decor to a much more subdued and elegant look. Mind you, there is still plenty of brass and other shiny bits.
We relaxed out in the pool area watching a Mumford & Brothers concert on the giant screen. I also braved one of the spas, but I avoided the pool: too cool for that.
We sailed around 9:30 pm, of course it was still light when we went to bed at 11. Great food and a band playing The Beatles and The Stones finished off the day.
